What exactly is a holistic lifestyle coach?

I get this question a lot when I'm out at social gatherings. Fair enough, coaching is still a new thing, especially where I live. So I thought I would take the time to sit down and explain exactly what I do as a coach and try my best to explain any questions you may have.

As a life coach I create a safe space where you are free to explore your deepest desires and dreams without judgement.

I am so honoured that my clients trust me with not only the good but also the messy. I am like that best friend who takes the no bull shit approach to telling you when you aren't living up to your full potential. I am your cheerleader, sounding board and truth teller.

Life coaching is all about:

  • Getting totally honest with yourself about what you want out of this life
  • A clear picture of exactly what lights you up and gets you excited
  • Acknowledging your fears
  • Letting go of self doubt and pushing your boundaries
  • The confidence to say your dreams out loud
  • Self love and body positivity

Easing into Autumn


Do you feel it? The seasons are shifting and life along with it. All most like mother nature is giving us permission to slow down. Bringing forth the shorter days and cooler temperatures encouraging us to retreat inside and relax.

I always find that with the ever changing colours and crisp, cool mornings there is also a sort of magic and mystery in the air. A sense of calm settling over everything and everyone.

Autumn is a time of reflection, a chance for us to look back on the year and all it entailed. I love to curl up in front of the fireplace with a coffee and journal about my year. Breaking it up into categories of things I loved, things that disappointed me and also surprised me. When you spend the time actively going over your life it can often surprise you what appears in each column.

I am the first to admit that 2017 has not been an easy year. It comforts me to hear this from a lot of other people that I have talked to. Phew, it's not just me then. 

A lot of things happened this year that made me question who I was, the life I was currently living and the future plans I had laid out for myself. I second guessed myself a ton, something that has not happened in a very long time.

Reflection has played a huge part in my life this year, but so has growth. Aren't we always growing though, growing, changing and expanding.

As the temperature cools ( I'm a wimp in anything below 10 degrees C) I give myself permission to take it easy. To leave chunks of time in my week to just sit still in silence. It's ok to ignore the ever revolving to-do list and do nothing for a change. We live in a world where the word busy is glorified far to much. What ever happened to making time to recharge.

You can often find me in my sunroom with a giant stack of books waiting to be read. Note book and pen at the ready for when inspiration strikes. Reading is how I let my soul recharge. It's long been my favorite form of self-care. What's yours?

It might not come to you right away and that's totally ok. It took me many days of soul searching, crying, sitting in silence and brutal honesty with myself about what I loved and down right hated in my life for my desired feelings to manifest.

Once I truly connected to how I really wanted to show up for myself and others each and every day it was amazing how much lighter I felt. I hadn't felt this free and connected to myself in a very long time. In fact, I was shocked at how lost and uncomfortable I had been feeling in my own skin.
