Start where you are, with what you have, just start

In current time as I am writing this, I'm sitting in one of my favorite coffee shops (Bliss) the name says it all right. The weather is cool and crisp and people are relaxing all around me. Some reading, some working and some laughing with friends.

It fills me with joy and gratitude for every moment I have experienced lately.

Which leads me to wonder about goals, dreams and pursing a life that fills us with endless amount of joy daily.

Why do we struggle with the actual start of going after our dreams.

You write them down, pin them up, design the dream board, but that's often where it stops. Day dreaming, longing for and imagining what that dream life will be like when it finally happens.

Why is it that you struggle so much with taking it further? 

What's actively preventing you from having a life aligned with who you are at a soul level.

You want to know a secret

You are the only thing holding you back 

GASP, that's right, I just said that out loud.

Big ah-ha moment right there.

There will always be an excuse if you search hard enough.

If you only take one thing away from reading this today let it be

It's time to acknowledge your dream and go after it with fierce determination and the knowing that you are so worthy of your dreams.

Sit down, write out your goals, create a road map of how to get there. The more time you spend actively thinking about your dream the easier it becomes to see how it could be in reality.

Drop the "if only" mentality.

Any time you catch yourself saying "if only" this was possible or I'm sure I could accomplish x if only I had y, stop yourself and rephrase.

Instead use

I know this is possible because.....
I am more than capable of accomplishing my dreams because...

Switch the negative into a positive and instantly watch your mood transform.

Now take the first step.

This is often the hardest part but it doesn't have to be.

Think about the smallest thing you could do today, right now that would start you on the path to your dream life.

- Is it doing some research
- Mapping out a plan
- Getting clear on your ideal timeline

Start small and build momentum from there

Today is the day

I challenge you to consider the steps you will take to actively start pursuing your dream.


How do you quiet the noise

When the world gets to loud.

When other voices drown out your own.

When there are too many thoughts and feelings whizzing through your mind

How do you deal?

When the world starts to make you feel overwhelmed and exhausted, how do you recharge?

It is not always easy to slow your mind, filter through the noise to clear out the useless clutter and focus in on your own thoughts and feelings.

Do you have a special place you like to go to? or maybe it's a very specific hobby that helps you recharge and rejuvenate.

For me it would be drinking a latte brewed with coconut milk and diving in to a book for the day. Or wandering through the forest with no particular destination in mind just intent on discovering new and beautiful things.

For me these are an instant reset button.

It's time to give yourself permission to put yourself first. 

To hide away from the world once in awhile and work on cultivating the most important connection of all. The one with yourself.

After all, you cannot pour from an empty cup. You must take care of yourself first before you can take care of others.

Making room for growth

In current time, as I am writing this, the sun is just starting to rise over the mountains, there is a thin layer of frost on everything outside and the birds have started to sing there songs.

Spring is not far away, I can feel it in the air. I can just see new green grass starting to grow and the tiniest of buds on the trees.

A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it
It just blooms.

My theme for March is to slow it down. Sit in stillness more often, connect with my wild energy and be sure I am staying true to myself and what I desire.

If we book ourselves to capacity each and every day, how will be ever make the time to grow.

2018 is all about exploration and discovery (sorry sis I stole your word).

Deep self exploration. This is not a quick thing. It can be unnerving and uncomfortable but also glorious and rewarding.

If we learn to sit and except our darkness, it will make the light that much brighter

If you dive deep enough you are sure to discover a treasure house of self-knowledge just dying to be unleashed.

It is time to discover the wild wisdom of your soul. Do not be afraid dear one, you will learn to release what no longer belongs to make room for your true nature to rise.

It's all about vision clarity

Did you know you are 50% more likely to accomplish goals if you write them down.

The simple act of putting pen to paper and posting them right were you can see them everyday will remind you what's truly important and what you are working so hard to accomplish.

Now I know you have the best of intentions to finally set some time aside, prioritize your goals, make a plan and start working towards what matters most to you.

But life gets busy, time passes by and those dreams tend to get pushed aside

Here's the thing. You have a lot swirling around in that beautiful brain of yours. It's impossible to keep things straight sometimes.

Creating space to work on our goals and dreams can often feel like one more thing to add to the never ending to do list. It can feel overwhelming to start. This is when procrastination sets in.

I'm pretty sure you can relate. It's all to easy to turn on your latest addiction on Netflix, drown out the noise and let the stress of the day melt away.

If we don't prioritize out dreams now, nothing will ever change

And you want change, I know you do.

So let's break things down, way down. Little micro movements that completely eliminate any overwhelm.

Let's start by finally writing all those amazing dreams down on paper.

Next take a look at everything you just wrote down, what's priority number 1? Move that to the top of the list.

Now it's time to brainstorm some little micro movements that you can start taking every day to move you closer to that particular dream.

What is a micro movement?

Micromovements are tiny steps that add up to a big difference. They allow you to get things down without pressure or stress.

Also two of my favorite exercises to get you started are:

- Write a list of 30 things that light you up. This can be absolutely anything. Nothing is off limits.

- Write a list of things that you would love to stop doing.

Is fear stopping YOU from truly living

Is fear stopping you from truly living?

It is not surprising that the moment we start to move forward with a dream or goal that we hold close to our heart, the fear and self doubt start to creep up and take over the show. Usually leaving us paralized and unable to move forward.

I think we have all felt this way, right? I know I have. When fear takes over I start to doubt myself. Fear makes me worry about what people think of me, and worst of all sometimes it succeeds and I give up on my plans all together.

Fear tends to be like that horrible backseat drive that wasn't invited but decided to come on the journey anyway.

Loud, obnoxious, gives the worst unwanted advice and generally ruins what would be an otherwise pleasant adventure.

Are you stuck on the sidelines of your own life because you have allowed fear to take over?

As the lovely Elizabeth Gilbert puts it:

" Fear is always triggered by creativity, because creativity asks you to enter realms of uncertain outcome, and fear hates uncertain outcome. This is nothing to be ashamed of, it is, however, something to be dealt with."

So how do we start to move past fear and start truly living?

First step would be to except that it will always be there no matter what you do. So stop focusing on the fear so much and get back to the magic that is your dreams.

Now I don't know about you, but I actually appreciate fear sometimes, it reminds me to be weary of certain situations like walking down a dark street late at night by yourself, or leaping off a cliff into the water just because everyone else is.

It took a while to accept but I have learnt that fear will always be there so instead of constantly fighting or resenting fear, let's embrace it.

Second step:

Talk to fear like you would an old friend. Let's forget about fighting against fear and instead reason with it. Thanks fear for it's opinion but remind her that she is not in charge. Fear can continue with you on your journey, but you are making all the decision.

The work is hard but necessary

Cleansing and clearing must come first

It is very tempting to skip over important steps on the way to self knowing and deep connection.

It is often much easier to try and push down and ignore the past instead of acknowledging that there is work to be done.

Work to clear the fear, anger and negativity that is deep inside.

Now if you are sitting there rolling your eyes at me as you are reading this, I understand, but just know this, I have been in this moment before where you are now. I choose to repress the pain. To deny instead of deal. It totally bit me in the ass. That same shit that I had thought was long gone ended up exploding all over the calm and collected life I had tried so hard to cultivate.

I now had to work four times as hard to clear and release these negative feelings that had I dealt with six months before wouldn't even exist anymore. They would be comfortably set in the past where they belong.

In order to get to the really juicy good stuff, we first need to clear the clutter and release everything that is no longer needed.

We need to sift through the clutter and chaos that is taking up way to much space. Space that could be used to clarify and cultivate the life that lights a fire within your soul.

Let's start here:

                         What have you been holding onto way to tightly?

Take a minute here, grab a piece of paper and write the first things that come to mind. Don't over think, just write.

How does that make you feel to see these things listed in front of you?

Time to take a closer look:

                                           Are you ready to let go?

                                           Can you release and move on?


It's ok if fear starts creeping up. It's a natural response. Fear is allowed to have a backseat in this journey but do not let it choose the direction you take.

Acknowledge the fear, thank it for showing up and then let it go.

Now let's create some ways that you can practice cleansing and clearing. Below are a few of my favourites.

Meditation - Particularly chakra clearing.

Yoga - So great to connect with yourself

Writing a letter to what ever it is you are trying to release and then letting it burn

Sage smudging. Especially great if you feel like you really need an energy clearing

So to wrap things up. In order to move towards the ideal life you are trying to create. You must first work on all the darkness inside that is holding you back. It does you no good to try and skip over this key step, it will always find a way to pop up when you least expect it.

How to stop settling for less than you deserve

I know life gets hectic. As we grow into our routines as adults we inevitably take on all the responsibilities that come with it. In order to survive we need a job. There are bills to pay and chores to be done.

At the end of the day, when all of this is taken care of and you finally have a few moments to yourself, how much energy is left to go after what you desire.

Routines become a habit and familiar. It is far to easy to continue on day to day like this. Time passes us by.  A sort of fog tends to settle over life and dreams and desires become a distant thought. Movement becomes harder.

Are you really willing to live your life half alive

It does not benefit you in the least to stay in a job that completely drains you. To be in a relationship with a person you no longer feel connected to. Or to sit at home night after night watching tv instead of getting lost in creative ideas that make your soul sing.

Yes it takes hard work, commitment and determination to go after what you really want. But the journey you will realize is one of profound self discovery and the end result can be pure magic.

You deserve the magic

So what can you do today, tomorrow and even next week to start to shift your mindset. It does not have to be this overwhelming commitment, make it instead a constant stream of micro movements.

You deserve the best version of your life. It's time to make it happen.


Start where you are

I would like to tell you a story about a time in my life, not so long ago when I felt incredible lost.

Why is this story relevant? It will show you that even the most lost among us are capable of discovering their unique power.

I once had five completely different jobs in one year.

I had zero strategy in picking them, usually it went something like this. My friend works for this company and they are hiring so why not. Oh that one looks fun lets do that for a bit. I would get a sweet discount if I worked there, let's go for it.

At the moment I could not see it, but looking back I can now say it was how I dealt with being so out of touch with myself.

I floated from place to place, job to job for a long time, without actually taking the time to figure out exactly what would nourish my soul.

It certainly comes as no surprise that the word that started to follow me was flighty, and this was definitely not what I wanted my legacy to be about.

It is never to late to take the opportunity to make bold changes in your life, which will lead you in the direction of your dreams.

My transformation was by no means overnight but more so a slow and steady self exploration. Small conscious decisions that aligned with my soul.

Now naturally self-doubt will unfortunately join you on this journey. Take it as a good sign that you are in fact heading in the right direction.

The way to your soul is paved with fear, self-doubt and even maybe a little darkness. But if we are willing to sit still in the uncomfortable darkness, take the time to process these feeling, release them and let them heal. I believe that eventually they become little more than markers on our path to our unique power.

Every time you take a wrong turn your wild feminine energy will let you know, and slowly but surely you will gain clarity and confidence in the fact that your internal wild self knows what she's doing.

You just have to trust her.

These days I feel deeply rooted with my wild self. I know longer doubt the signs and small nudges I receive when I start to make a wrong turn. I am confident in my choices and the way I choose to live my life.

I know you crave the same thing, and lovely you are so worthy of it. It is time to step off the sidelines and start taking bold action to achieve your desires.

Creating a success mindset

Mastering your mindset practice is essential to creating your ideal life, so why aren't more people making it a priority.

I was talking to a friend the other day about changes that I have made to my daily routine to ensure that 2018 is by far the best year for me. She was curious because as we talked, she noticed how calm and vibrant I seemed while discussing what I had been up to and all the new stuff happening in my business and personal life. She definitely wanted in on the secret.

That's when the subject of a mindset practice came up.

Incorporating a mindset practice into your daily routine will change your life. Trust me.

If you are always overwhelmed, tired and unsure about exactly how to change daily habits, make shifts that will change your perspective and eliminate negativity from your life then I find the majority of people will decide to do nothing instead.

I totally get it, sometimes it is easier to just continue on the same path, familiarity can be comfortable, safe.

Nothing incredible ever happens when you decide to stay stuck.

It is essential for you to take action every single day to help you achieve something mentally that helps propel you towards your goals/intentions.

It takes serious courage to sit in stillness for any given amount of time when you are doubting your abilities to succeed. But if you do this, you create room for unique possibilities and ideas to appear.

When we are constantly going and doing all day long, how in the world can we possibly expect to be in tune with our intuition, inner wild spirit.

What exactly is a mindset practice and how do you start?

Mindset is essentially beliefs. Beliefs about yourself and your qualities. People with a fixed or stuck mindset tend to think that things are the way they are and nothing will change that. People with a growth mindset can see the opportunities for growth and expansion.

My daily mindset practice is pretty simple. I start with 5 to 15 mins of just focusing on my breathing. This works so well because it helps to completely empty my mind. I am able to let everything go, be completely at ease and calm in my own body and sit in silence. 

The next step is then creating a vision of the success I wish to create for myself, it can be money, relationships, career, self-love ect. You get the point. Whatever you really desire for yourself, you need to start envisioning this and the time frame you wish to accomplish this in. You also need to feel what it's going to feel like when you achieve this.

By doing this you will notice that you create a positive mood and stay in that space for the rest of your day. Doing this every day, you will slowly start to achieve your dreams.

Even if you just start with five minutes each and every morning. Your practice with slowly improve and shifts will start to take place.

Are you feeling left behind

2018 is calling.png

I've been easing into 2018, slowly dipping my toes in so to speak to test out the water.

As 2017 came to an end I had decided that it was a great time in my life to start fresh, a clean slate. So I did a lot of letting go, both emotionally and physically. I went through my then house room by room energetically tossing stuff into either the donate or trash pile and was left with a refreshingly small pile that was mine to keep.

I did this again with a little less enthusiasm but with the same amount of determination with the relationships in my life. Of course this isn't as simple as tossing it into a pile, there are connections to sever and painful goodbyes. You are no longer the type of person I wish to surround myself with. Again when all was said and done I was lighter, a little more self assured with the direction I was heading in 2018.

I purged absolutely everything that I no longer felt connected to. 

Next were the goals/intentions. I decided to let them all go, that's right every single one. They were for the girl I use to be, I no longer recognized her, she was a complete stranger, a faint reflection of the woman I was becoming.

So this is why I'm doing things differently this year. Taking it slow, giving myself permission to take it one step at a time. To map out my hearts desires and make tentative plans. But most importantly being ok with the fact that I might just change my mind, or things may not work out the way I want them to.

It's ok to be undecided.

I'm here to give you that exact permission slip. To take it slow, no rushing. Refuse to race into 2018 with half hearted goals just because your worried about being left behind. So what if your sister, best friend, co-worker has their shit figured out all ready.


You are not them, this is not their path.

Show up everyday, be actively present in your life, do the work and your soul will guide you to where you need to be.
